If you had drunk five glasses of water each morning for 15 years it would be hard to stop without any consequence so, you know – if you must do it than you must do it, scared or not scared. You say you’ve tried to stop before – what was the problem then: some unpleasant withdrawal symptom or the fact that marijuana still was around and available? So, most people still do think that marijuana doesn’t create physical addiction, but that’s not so true after all. Marijuana withdrawal isn’t as severe as heroin withdrawal, obviously, but few days and weeks after quitting are definitely filled with withdrawal symptoms. Common ones are: being excessively irritable, feelings of extreme anxiety that, headaches, insomnia and very vivid and often extremely frightening nightmares. It’s not easy, but also it’s nothing that most of us couldn’t manage. Just find something to do for a first few days. Keeping yourself busy and not thinking is a key. If you just sit and think about it for a whole day it’s only going to be worse.
