After stopping the pill, I had intense nausea and headaches for about a week. I would consider my first period after a fluke, as It was very light and didn't have a lot of symptoms leading up to it. It also took about 4 weeks from quitting the pill to when I started. My second one felt more "normal" and brought more symptoms. (I didn't have a period for about 1.5 years when I was on the pill.)

I would consider myself an anxious person, but I have never really dealt with anxiety up until this point. When I feel it coming on it feels like my throat has tightened up, or a constant sore throat feeling. Nothing compared to the racing thoughts and panic that I did have though It is still frustrating. It seems to be trigged by stressful situations, or when i start thinking that i feel "normal" it seems to trigger it, if that makes sense.

That totally makes sense because I'm like as well. Right now im sitting on a nice poolside and i want to swim and have fun like a normal person would but I'm so scared to stand up from where I'm lying down to get some sun because my head started to feel heavy and im scared to i might pass out..

That has been my worst symptom since these all started. The constant fear of feeling im gonna faint anytime.

I hope that you as well as everyone of us who has struggled with this is able to find the peace we are searching for. It's so hard to be present and enjoy yourself when it feels like your worries consume everything. Hang in there. I know I can be my own worst enemy some days, just wishing I could go back to before I felt all this. Better days ahead!

I stopped the pill 4 months ago and still suffer from insomnia and anxiety. I am trying everything mentioned in this thread, but it's not much better. Never had any of these issues before taking the pill. Encouragement needed, trying to stay positive as many of you all day you eventually recovered!

hi! I just stopped birth control about 3 weeks ago because it was making me have panic attacks and I've had severe anxiety (nausea, anxious irrational thoughts, insomnia, shortness of breath, etc.) It truly is a terrible feeling and I hope it goes away soon. I never felt like this before the birth control. I am also looking for encouragement or someone to talk to who is going through the same thing!!

Hi ! Please stay positive. I was one of the original poster & an now a little over a year off the pill! It takes your body ALOT of time to recover from synthetic drugs and depending on your length of using it can take even longer. If you weren’t like this before the pill, then it is more than likely hormonally related. My first 6 months were the worst. But they do gradually get better!!!! Just try to be supported by family and friends and take care of yourself. Try to cleanse, eat organic, detox your body to help speed up the recover and eats lists of hormon supporting foods. Magnesium, zinc, iron and B supplements help and i also turned to MACA root capsules. I know how dark those days are and when your mindstate is not healthy, you can’t see things in a healthy clear way... but the fog does lift. Everyone is different, but the side effects are never permanent

this is a weird symptom, but has anyone else had intense dreams since stopping the pill? I'm not sure why this is but every night is like a freaky party in my subconscious. I never noticed before but I guess I never dreamt at night when I was on the pill.

I've been on an upswing the last week, feeling almost normal. my period should be coming due, so we will see how it goes since that seems to bring the worst. although each month gets a bit easier. I hope everyone is doing well, stay strong!

Hello, thanks for sharing your story!! I am going through the exact same thing. I am almost 2 months off the pill and although my anxiety has gotten much better than it used to be the physical symptoms pop up a lot and i have also developed health anxiety and a constant fear that something more serious is wrong with me even tho i never felt like this before the pill. I noticed that your post was 2 months ago... are you feeling better now? Has the health anxiety gone away?

Hi! Martha here :)

Yes I'm almost 4 months off the pill on thursday and Praise God I'm better now. Im not 100% back because there are days where the anxiety is high and the physical symptoms still bother and scare me so much. Today is a setback day for me because my period is coming up so I've been feeling really tense and panicky but I can tell it's not as bad as before.

The health anxiety is still there but not as strong as it was 2 months ago. I took off work during from month 1 til now because my job was stressful and it makes my anxiety shoot up.

What are the physical symptoms you feel?

These are the things that i believe helped me with my recovery:
-meditation
-L theanine 400mg
-acupuncture
-sleeping well
-less stress
-no caffeine, much much less sugar

Hi Martha! Thank you for getting back to me. Thats great that you are so much better now. I also feel like I am getting a lot better but my period is also coming up so I can feel my anxiety spiking.
The physical symptoms ive had:
-naseua
-feeling of lump im my throat
-heart palpatations
-shaking
-insomnia
-shortness of breath
However all these symptoms are not around all the time they happened randomly throughout these past 2 months and only last a short amount of time however when they do happen they are very scary. Have you also experienced these symptoms?

Hey there. You're welcome. May i ask how long were you on the pill?

Yes i felt those symptoms before as well and it's so scary! Most days i doubt its the pill that caused it and my health OCD convincing me its something else. Even at 4 months off i still have bad days.. ome step at a time. All of us will heal from this nightmare. I'm praying for all of us.

Martha
