My boyfriend will not cum inside of me as a form of birth control. When he feels he is going to cum, he stops and pushes it away. Once he has control again we continue on with sex. Is he at anytime releasing any sperm? I have heard that before you ejaculate you release some liquid that has sperm in it.

First of all...what you are doing is NOT birth control!
He is releasing fluid, called pre-cum..and it is known to contain sperm..please read the sticky topics on this subject here on steadyhealth.
Again this is not birth control but you are both taking a terrible risk..this is how my daughter was concieved.... unless you want to be parents you need to use a condom, get on the pill or other REAL form of birth control.
