I just recently had a root canal done on a middle-range tooth (I don't know the number for it, sorry!). I was given antibiotics and I think he put the Gutta Percha into the tooth then applied temp filling over the top of it. I'm going to be away this christmas period visiting my fiance, and was just curious:

How much can I actually chew/apply pressure to the temp filling? I don't have any plans to go around gnawing on toffee or nuts.

If the filling comes out, am I okay to repatch over with dentek temp filling?

I have my permanent filling done in the january, which is the soonest they could get me in! I have a feeling it'll be fine otherwise, but I'm just checking as my dentist wasn't particularly helpful with advice, only that I 'don't chew too hard'.
