Its my 3rd day today after my internal prolapsed hemorrhoid was Elastic banded. One external hemorrhoid was surgically removed. In the 24 hours after surgery I was given pethidine injections that really helped tolerate the pain. I was put strictly on liquids only ...apple juice, jelly, herbal tea ....it did help ..the last thing you need is to have a heavy BM when you ate all swollen and in pain. Most important for my DT before my discharge was to make sure my bladder worked ..My Dr prescribed Stillpain tablets that do help with the pain especially after a BM... I use a Adco Amethocaine cream it helps to numb the anus area after washing up. I also take Spitz baths using Betadine antiseptic solution ..10min warm soak does make a difference . I am also prescribed Urbanol to help me sleep... And Fybogel to increase fiber in my system without the need to eat soluble foods yet . I can walk around for at least 20min with no pain no itching. What does help when you sleep ..is to lay on your side with a pillow wedged between your legs I find it makes it much more comfortable to sleep. I've done this since my day out of theatre and still find relieve in it ...I Hope this info would help someone
