Hi...I wanted to see if I get could some answers with a problem I have been experiencing. I have looked at past post from people with the same problems or similar, but I can't seem to really find any clear answers. On January 11th I woke up and was experiencing severe cramps, which were located primarily in the right side of my body. After laying for awhile to see if they would pass, I told my boyfriend he better take me to the ER. First of all...I hate going to the ER, because their main goal always seem to be getting you out as soon as you are in. Anyways.. OF COURSE as soon as we got there, I felt most of the pain had subsided..but my body felt weak and was shaking from the pain I had been in. They did a pelvic exam...after about an hour of asking me 10 times to "rate my pain". The doctor told me, he thought it was a ruptured cyst, and we could perform an ultrasound, but you will be here for at least another 1 and a half...
Um..excuse me? Do the darn ultrasound! So after another hour of "rate your pain" I had the ultrasound. He came in and told me it was a cyst that ruptured on the right ovary. I felt relieved, he game me pain medicine and he made it clear that the pain should go away within 3 to 4 days. When I got home I set up an appointment with my GYN for a follow up and more information on why this happened. She said it was normal and that some woman get them more often than others..and some don't....hmm, okay? So she did another exam and said she thought everything was just fine with me.
I believed so as well, until I passed my four days of when I was supposed to feel better. It is now day 9, and I can't say I am feeling better, but I am certainly feeling worse. I noticed that in my lower back and around to my right side I have been having spasms. The pain I feel in my right side is so achy that I twitch and the pain also seems to be moving to the left side a little as well. I felt nausea and I felt a tightness in my chest and throat. When I try to relax, I seem to twitch more. I had trouble getting to sleep so I called my mother and told her what I was experiencing. I also told her that I took a vicodin before going to bed. She contacted the poison control center, to find out from them if maybe I had an allergic reaction to vicodin. They informed her that I should not have an allergic reaction to it, since I had been taking vicodin throughout the week with no problems.
Tonight, I feel the same, only now I am at work (third shift) and these pains feel like they are progressing. I don't want to end up back in the hospital, if it is not necessary, or so they can tell me I am just ovulating. If anyone has any advise as to what I should do, or knowledge in this subject that would be great. Thank you.
