Well, it's been two days since my surgery, and my eyes, cheeks, nose, throat, jaw and even my hair all hurt. I don't wish this pain on anyone. I'm having allot of trouble sleeping (hence it's 5:16am and I'm up writing this). Between the pain, the constant dry mouth, sore throat and profuse sweating - one if not all the above has kept me up most of the past two days. I've applied cold compresses to my head and the bridge of my nose and keep taking my meds. At one point I had to call my ENT at 10:00pm (12 hours after the surgery) because I was in so much pain and the Percocet 100mg they proscribed me wasn't doing a darn thing to stop my pain. He suggested Advil, which surprisingly has helped.

I have an appointment with my ENT this afternoon to get this packing removed, so atleast the pressure in my head should subside quite a bit. I just might sleep for the next two days once this is out and I can breathe through my nose. I only took 4 days off from work (not including this weekend), but after reading some of the posts here, it sounds like I might need a few more recovery days once the packing it out. I might see about working from home a few days so I don't gross out my peers. It sounds like my nose will still bleed for a few days.

Though I'm not looking forward to the next few weeks of recovery, I know in the end I will feel much better. This forum has been a great source of information and seeing how many people have gone through this procedure, and have experienced the same thing I'm going through right now, helps to keep me going.

Well, I'm off to try and sleep a bit... wish me luck.

My opinion is to go and do the operation as soon as possible, because I had mine (septo and reinoplasty) operation 4 days ago and all the symptoms I have now just like piece of cake for me because this is the third time I have do the operation because what I heard about the pain and discomfort able is nothing compare with what I gone through 20 years ago I had this operation under local anaesthesia back home and all I have is 2 injection under upper lip and a spray in mu nasal and I was watching every things with a hammering my nose with a hammer and a long screw driver and my hands are tides up it was a night mare, after one year my upper tooth was pain after the operation which was 45 min the DR. he put 10 pieces of born in my hand and told me to get up and go to next room until mooring then I went home. Second time I had the operation in Wythenshawe hospital in Manchester it was just like a going to a holiday for me it was so easy because was under general anaesthesia and despite all the pain was easy, and now just 4 days ago I had again same hospital evert things ok. I don’t care about pain and all nasty things and bleeding but at the end it worth it. So I recommend every one want to an operation is worth it, few day of pain and bleeding is nothings compare with all your life with blocked nose and bad breathing.
