Hi,

My 19 year old girlfriend has had a stomach ache/abdominal pain for almost three years. The pain wakes her up in the middle of the night and lasts for a few hours usually. The pain is worse after she eats, although the aching is pretty constant. It hurts her to lay on anything but her back, and it hurts to laugh. She is also constantly tired, taking two naps after sleeping for twelve hours the previous night. She has lost about 15 lbs in the past few months, but this maybe simply be because she got a job in which she walks around all the time. She also mentioned getting chills fairly often. We have had a few tests done and know that: She's not pregnant; she doesn't have gallstones; and she doesn't have ulcers (had a UGI). She is going for a CAT scan soon, but I'm concerned and hope to help diagnose her asap. Please post ANYTHING you think it could possibly be. We have considered the worst after we read that unplanned weight loss is sometimes a sign of cancer. Please help.

I'm 18 years old and began getting sick at 15. I've had 2 laporoscopic surgeries and got my appendix out. I went to doctor to doctor most of them telling me i was nuts and others just passing me on to someone else. I have severe lower abdominal pain, head aches, always tired, and have been on many medications. I was diagnosed at 17 with endometriosis. they found it in the back of my pelvis. A short time after this i began having pain again. Recently i cannot eat. I have lost twenty pounds in one month. Doctors again have been passing me along telling me it is not their problem. I feel absolutely horrible about your girlfriend but i would like to thank you for writing this and standing up for her. Just keep trying until you find the right doctor. Don't lose faith!! good luck and i hope you get better very soon
