Hi! I am a 24 year old female suffering from crippling stomach pain, and severe nausea. The pain is located in the upper part of my stomach. I was diagnosed with acid reflux and a hiatal hernia. I have had countless numbers of blood work done. I have had an endoscopy, and a colonoscopy. I have also had an ultrasound of my liver and pancreas, and I have had a gastric emptying study done. All of which came up normal. I have tried taking antacid pills of every kind. I've tried all of the commonly perscribed pain medications, and none of the have worked. the pain gets so bad every day activities like, walking and driving are near impossible. The nausea is so bad I sit in the bathroom for an hour unable to vomit. any ideas on what it could be? Please help!!!!!!

A Hiatial Hernia, is a terrible ailment! Why haven't they operated on it? I don't know if you know what a Hiatial Hernia is. It is a kink or a bump in your intestine or upper stomach. It causes pain and vomitting/nausea. The only thing with it is it is hard to capture, it is usually more detectable when you are REALLY sick! So I wonder if that is why they haven't done anything. It is a simple operation, where they cut out the kink/bump. Check into that OK? They can also operate for the flap over your stomach. So I think they need to start talking about those options. Let me know how things go OK? Good luck hon!

I just had a gastric emptying study done, which showed that i have gastroperesis. (aka. delayed emptying) This means that the stomache doesn't send the food off for digetion fast enough. My doctor perscribed 5 mg of reglan which is used to treat this condition, however, I found that it wasn't working at all. I called the doctor back and he gave me 10 mg instead of 5. It still isn't helping my symptoms. Are there any other treatments.
