It sounded like you have some serious problems here. I am glad that at least you are under a doctor's care. We all get a bit forgetful as we grow older. But the extent to which you are losing your short-term memory at the young age of 50 is a big concern. Since many of your family members have had the same condition, your illness appears to be a hereditary one. I am assuming you are seeing a neurologist for your condition besides your family doctor. A neurologist can best diagnose your illness. At this point, I think it is prudent for you to appoint one or more of your children to be your Power of Attorney. This way, they can legally take over your personal affair when you are mentally and/or physically unable to do so. I would also encourage you to engage in some form of physical exercise, as this would help improve your body function. Please update us of your condition from time to time. We are always here for you.
