Hi. My daughter is only 14 months old and she recently had seizure where right side started thrashing. We went to hospital where she was given Ativan to stop it. That was her first med. Then, after a while, next seizure happened (same thing, same side) but only this time docs gave here Valium. Seizure was fever related just as the previous one and docs did not put her on any meds. When the third seizure happened, docs realized there’s more into it and she was put on phenobarbitol. Still, I’m very afraid and I can except next seizure at any time. Is there anything more I can do about it?

I believe that doctors finally found the right cause and that they put her on correct pill. My daughter has been on phenobarbital for over 6 years and it really helped her. I strongly believe that it will help your daughter too. Currently she is on 2 tablets in the a.m. & 2 in the p.m. Just hang in there – everything will be ok. Sometimes it takes a while for doctors to determine right diagnose but once they do treatment is not such a huge problem. Good luck!
