So I noticed earlier today in the shower that I had a little red bump on the left side of my penis shaft, and as far back as I can remember, I don't ever recall seeing this. Now, I am sexually active but have never engaged in intercourse, and I don't plan on it for a while. I messed around with a girl about a year or so ago, and at one point she tried to give me a blowjob but that never ended up happening. She did, however, place her mouth around my penis a couple of times but we never proceeded with that. After much research, the common answer to this "red bump" is herpes, and I'm freaking out at the sound of that. I also made out with her, and I don't have any bumps or anything whatsoever on my lips. My thought process is basically that since our genitals never made contact, and that since I don't have mouth herpes, she couldn't have given me genital herpes when she placed her mouth on my penis head. Is this a sensible and logical conclusion? I just would like to know what this bump is so I can stop freaking out. Thanks.

If its a single bump, its most likely an ingrown hair. I get those from time to time and all you need to do is squeeze it to get the puss out. However, if more begin to develop in the area, lets say three or more, then you should seek help from your primary care doctor. There are also clinics throughout the United States that offer tests for STD's without parental consent. These clinics also offer birth control and condoms, without parental consent.
