Hi, my name is Tonya and I am 32 years old and I had a gastric bypass through bariatric treatment centers in Ohio back in 2001. I had a lot of medical problems after 3 years not due to the surgery itself but due to my health problems before hand and my pcp and my aftercare with him and was not taken care of properly. Needless to say my life suffered and I have suffered a great deal. I was taken to the ER on July 05, 2005 where I had a false blood test of some kind of hard core street drugs that I have no idea what they are, you use some kind of over the counter cold pills to make and some other ingredients to make, so I was released that day in a panic attack, barely able to walk, throwing up and severely dehydrated, they had already gaven me two bags of IV fluids. I think they called it amphetamines or something like that... ??? I fought the hospital and won my case with the same urine with a positive result three weeks later but refused to go back, and only got worse, but the thing is I had already been sick by this time for over 6 months and could barely get out of bed, and at the urging of my family and FINALLY agreed to go to the hospital.. I hate hospitals. Then in Sept this past year I woke up around 4 am I was fine to start with just a little weird, I have been sick like I said for the past couple of years, and then all of a sudden I just started throwing up, and had to run to the bathroom, within 2 hours, I know Ihad thrown up a matter of probably 6 times and been in the bathroom that many times... By 3 pm I felt like I was dying.. but figured it was a virus... ( I hate hospitals ) My mom was called by my oldest daughter who had came in from school and she took me to her house next door and called and ambulance and they took me to a local ER, adn there I sat for 10 hrs and was told I had a blocked bowel and would have to be transferred... :cry: By this time.. I was crying... openly.. Something I don't do in front of anyone... I also have neuropathy thanks to my dear PCP who gave me poor care and will be in a wheel chair within the next 2 years most likely and am on vicodin and have been for the last 4 years and it was not even easing the pain... I had to be transferred to a bigger ER and go through everything over again... but it would be a little quicker or so they said.. I still set there almost 5 or 6 hours... Finally I told them I could not take no more... The surgeons came and talked to me.. told me what they had told me said my bowels was blocked, but they would be doing EXPLORATORY surgery in the morning first thing and that they would keep me on morphine through out the night to keep me comfortable... At around 4 am.. I started going down fast... I was told I came within 3 minutes or so of losing my life... When they opened me up, my stomach was busted open completely, a hernia had wrapped itself around my bowel and a busted it open I had pancreaitis, and I had a "hell" of a lot of lesions, and that I was not expected to make it through the night. I was on a ventilator, and respirator I think... I was cut from breast bone to pelvic bone.... I have not been able to heal up... I was back in the ER a week later because of infection or something inn the incison line and they had to rip it open which hurt awful.... They took scissors and their fingers and dug 2 inches down into my stomach about 4 inches long and made a gash and I had to wet pack it and let it heal up on its own... with saline and guaze... Then my inside stitches popped out throgh my belly button...

Now the reason I am writing to you guys now is I am having a lot of trouble with severe pain under my left breast bone, and my stomach it hurts when i breathe... I was supposed to went for a uppper GI, but my Insurance says it has payed all it will.. and I can't afford to pay anything on this... I know something is wrong.. I do have asthma and gastric reflux... But it hurts when I breathe in and out... So any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated...
