Hi, I don't know what kind of problem I have, but I run for 30 minutes about 5 days a week (I have for about 2 years now, at a very comfortable speed, and it hasn't really had any negative physiological effects on me, I'm not overexerting myself or anything) and lately (since around mid-july) whenever I run, after about 5 minutes I begin to develop a dull feeling of pressure in my stomach (upper-left part of the abdomen) and eventually I'll have to stop. The pressure continues after i've stopped running, and is especially evident after i eat because my digestion slows down noticeably, and this feeling of dull pressure lasts for about a day after i've run (my digestion goes back to normal overnight though) this is a problem because i don't want to damage my body by running further when i'm in this state, but it also throws me off routine so i can't get my 5 days of running in. I'm also positive this isn't the stitches though, and i'm not eating right before running etc just to rule a couple things out.
I'm positive this attributes to a mistake I made at the end of july. I pretty much had a lot of concentrated alcohol to drink, and didn't go to the bathroom before passing out for the night. Long story short, the alcohol got absorbed and I had terrible digestion/intestinal problems for a week. That was actually my only experience with overconsumption, I don't have a history of alcohol abuse and I don't go for any more than one beer per week usually.
I'm guessing there was some damage to my stomach from the aforementioned incident. I tried running a few weeks after and I had the same problem as I do now. Since then, i've waited about a month for my stomach to recover after stating to run again but there isn't much difference. Exact same issue. I actually ran it by my doctor, and he didn't give me much more than 'inflammation'. So, I'm posting here in hopes of getting some more information on what might be the problem. Any help would be appreciated. I know its a bit of a read, but if u could help somehow it'd be awesome thanks!
