The problem started last april when i began experiencing a dull ache in my groin and the left side of my vaginal area. The ache became stronger and i was left in severe throbbing pain, starting off dull and becoming stronger, however the pain was constant. I tried painkillers but they did not take the pain away and no matter what i did, sit, stand, lie down i could not ease the pain which resulted in sleepless nights. When i was younger i had my kidney removed and as a young child i experienced many problems like chills and urine infections which caused a similar pain to the one i was feeling now, however this feeling was much more intense and could not be eased. I went to the doctors to find out what was causing the problem. A series of blood and urine tests showed the problem was not related to my kidney and when nothing was found after an external examination i was sent to a gynecologist for further examination. Still nothing was found and i was given cocodamol to ease the pain and told to travel to A&E if the problem persisted. I spent the rest of the night in agony as the cocodamol did not work and was causing nausea so i went back to the hospital that night, i was again given an external examination with nothing found, after several hours i was given antibiotics in the hope that this would solve the problem. After a few days of antibiotics combined with cocodamol the pain eased and i was soon back to normal after the sickness wore off. Despite my recovery i still did not know the cause of my pain. Since then i have experienced a dull ache from time to time lasting only a few seconds, recently however the pain has once again increased and after another unsuccessful trip to the doctors i am feeling very frustrated and helpless as i feel this problem will never go away and the thought that i may have to live with this on going pain is heartbreaking, i take regular painkillers which do ease the pain slightly but it is still extremely distracting and i find it almost impossible to get through the day, i would greatly appreciate any help or advice that could be offered.

Thankyou xx

Another word for Infection is Inflammation. Have you ever been cultured for Group B Strep? No one ever talks about Group B Strep until the 3rd Trimester of a pregnancy... when they are swabbing your anus and vagina for the bacteria... but it lives in adults and can be transmitted to babies without knowledge. It is Not A Sexually Transmitted Disease.  Group B strep may live harmlessly in the human body, which is called "colonization" or "carriage." During colonization, the organism lives on surfaces and membranes but does not invade tissues or organs. The most common site of colonization for group B strep is in the bowels. (Explains Hemmorhoids, lower G.I. issues) Approximately 20%-40% of women are colonized with group B strep in the vagina or cervix. (Explains UTI's, Vulvar Infections, and Other Embarrassing Changes) Colonization is more common in people with diabetes and those who are sexually active. In non-pregnant adults, group B strep causes bloodstream infection, pneumonia, abscesses, or infections of the bone (osteomyelitis). People with bloodstream infections usually have fever and aches, and they may have low blood pressure.(Sepsis) Bloodstream infections may lead to infection of the heart valves (endocarditis). Pneumonia causes shortness of breath and fever with cough. Abscesses are local collections of pus and may occur deep in the abdomen. Ouch!
