Not to much but at 7 weeks definitely still had the fool feeling it was the worst. I also felt like I never completely finished it was weird that's pretty much gone now. It feels a little swollen at times but mostly just a little bit sore like I'm stretching the surgery site to much. I hope and pray that I'll continue to be better. It's more like measuring by two weeks to see any improvement then day to day.

I am on day 4 and I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown if I don't get some sleep. I'm supposed to go back to work in 10 days. I hope I make it. The pain and stitches poking my skin has been rough. Did you get your husband or someone to trim your stitch? It's driving me insane. Thanks

My doc trimmed mine at two weeks but keep them in as long as you can I found that it was harder to heal on open wound. I'm going on six months next week and still having a little trouble and a little pain. Took me almost a month in a half to go back to work.

Warm bath, helps urinating. That's what I just had to do.

I'm 23 y.o, healthy female who had one cluster of external hemorrhoid and one internal. Life after surgery has been hell. I regret it completely. The day of and after surgery are ok because you are still sedated and numbed from the local anesthesia. My surgeon is a genius (sarcasm) who came into my room while still 75% sedated to explain what she did to me... I had no clue whether she left my wound open to heal as some doctors do or if she placed stitches in me. A few days later I had my first bm which was excruciating because the opioids they pump you full of make you constipated, and yeah they give you a prescription for a stool softener a bit not till the day of surgery. My piece of advice is get a stool softener in advance and take it a day or two beforehand. Because I was compacted I ripped my stitches out during my first bm, and now I have a 2 inch long suture string hanging out of my rectum. I would call my surgeon for advice but she hasn't returned any of my calls. Don't get this surgery unless it is secretly impacting your daily life and if you have to get it done be prepared and get yourself a better surgeon than me.

Been there done that, it will get better. Miralax worked the best for me, took it for probably 6 months after surgery. I wouldn't worry about the stitches, yes they used to not stitch at all so if it opens up it will still heal. The tub was my best friend, also I bought a bidet off Amazon which was genius I must say, avoid the sitz bath etc. I had problems with the narcotics right away and went to tylenol. If you can't go just wait, it will happen. Coffee helped me a few times. My wounds seeped quite a bit for the first 3-4 weeks, that was the worst part, uncomfortable. After my stitches dissolved my doctor had me using Vitamin A&D cream just to help with healing. I also started taking Vitamin C, I've read some good things about it. My surgeon was hard to get a hold of but the hospital gave me a number I could call anytime and talk to nurses. It's now about 14 months since my surgery and I'm 100% back to normal, very glad I had the surgery, life is a lot easier. Hang in there...

About 3 weeks after my surgery my surgeon told me to start using Vitamin A&D cream to help the healing. If anything it made it feel better. I also started a regimen of Vitamin C, like 1000 Mg a day. I ended up taking Miralax for about 6 months after the surgery but stopped because I didn't need it anymore. Was probably 100% back to normal 9 months out.

Yes if you don't urinate your kidneys could shut down, go to the emergency room and they will insert a catheter to drain the bladder. If you are taking Opiods, stop, switch to Tylenol. Took me 2 days of no peeing to figure that out.

I had spasms, they gave me a couple of things that didn't work, took some xanax and relaxed, that stopped them :)

Glad you are better. I had hemorroid surgery 12 weeks ago but was still in excruciating pain. 3 weeks ago I had fissure removed and Botox. Still in a little pain and still dread going to the loo. Can't wait to be pain free. Good luck with your problem. Will be watching for ideas. Debbie
