Unbelievable there is a surgery that can bring someone down mentally physically and emotionally. I have to take r ducolax daily with 290mg. I am on a clear liquid diet still..

Hi Dom hope you are well. I am post 20 days of my surgery. I am feeling so down. i have been cut open so badly, it's like they've used a Ginger Bread man biscuit cutter!! Is this a normal incision? Will it heal so my butt is a hole instead of this mid shape? I am so worried and I've got another 2wks to go before my check up! please please can someone respond. Thank you :)

That was my problem when I decided to get surgery. I'm on my 5th day after surgery. I have more anal pain when I urinate then with a BM. How did yours work out?

Many people on different forums have been recommending coconut oil. I've been putting a tsp in a daily bath with a good scoop of table salt and I have noticed a remarkable improvement in only a couple of days. I have also applied the oil direct to the 'wound'.
I thought I would share, as I know how desperate I was & in pain, it's the worst thing I have ever gone through & this tip may help someone else :)

I had mine done 2 days ago... I see what u mean about swelling. .. hoping it will go down .. I thought me might have forgot a hemrroid.. fingers crossed it's just swelling. .. hope it goes away soon for you

I had 2 thrombosis external Hemorroids cut out. Right after and still numb I felt great. Next day hurt even more than before surgery and had swelling that I could not push back in. Advil helps with pain but swelling makes me lay down and cannot work. Not sure I would have opted for surgery now.

I had a hemorrhoidectomy on Tuesday. I have been soaking a gauze in Bactine spray and cleaning and putting it in the area along with applying arnica and it is a miracle. I'm only taking 800mg of ibuprofen and none of the percocet. It's day 4 and I can say I feel very little discomfort. After a BM I immediately wash the area then use the Bactine and arnica and that seems to be a life saver. Of course I am also eating right and taking fiber pills and 1 stool softener a day.

I had to wait for two years to get my surgery due to a car accident. Had spinal fusion, which was far less hell than the hemorrhoid surgery. Ironically, at the time I thought nothing could be worse than spinal disk and fusion surgery. BOY WAS I WRONG. (By the way, never ever wait to have the surgery done if you can. Less cutting needed during the surgery and quicker healing time.) It's only been two weeks, but I feel like I want to die since the pain is so bad. I have numbness as well. Taking lots of meds to help with BMs and don't want to eat as the pain lasts hours after going to the bathroom. Pain meds don't help much. It's impossible to sit, hard to recline so I stay in bed.
Make sure you have everything you need at home BEFORE the surgery.

I just had the surgery for some of the reasons you mentioned. It dropped my blood sugar tremendously and it toOK the doctor about 4 weeks to agree to doing the surgery. I honestly understand now why he felt I would be in so much pain with this procedure.
At this point, I have been back to ER due to pain. It took me three days before my first bm to pass the gel dressing they had inside me. I lost my twin pregnancy due to this issue. On top of that, I practically with taken all the medicing and stool softer laxatives the only kind I could have since I have trouble swollen capsules, now spend hours at a time in the tub sitz bath. This is worst than childbirth. Actually, the most painful surgery I ever had, but you still may have a speedy recovery depending on your body and health conditions. Have faith, take all meds as prescribed, take Gummi with high fiber or increase fiber in diet, and good luck.
