A large, swollen band of skin appears just below the head of my husband's penis after heavy petting/stroking. It has the same diameter as the ridge of the glans when he's flaccid. (This is not a swollen foreskin, as my husband is circumcised)

He says it is not particularly painful and gives him no discomfort, and that it goes away on its own after a few hours, but this has happened many times in the past few years, and I am growing increasingly worried.

Could a lack of lubrication during self- and assisted-masturbation be the problem? My husband is too embarrassed to see a urologist about this problem, so any clues as to what's going on and ways to prevent it would be appreciated. Thank you!

im having this too..the wall of skin on the shaft right below the head is swollen..and i can't roll the foreskin back up over it...i'm not sure what caused/is causing this swelling? weird...and if i do roll up the foreskin this swollen band of skin rolls with it..which i'm not sure is smart to do..mite stretch it too much or put too much pressure on the blood vessels inside it.

So what causes this swelling and how do i get it to go down?

Well i decided yesterday to keep my foreskin retracted..and im putting a damp wash cloth over the head of my penis (it's too painful/sensitive otherwise leaving it exposed)...i think this will get the band of swelling of the shaft-wall skin down..mite take a week or two..but i think this is finally my solution...feels very comfortable + correct.
