Hi, I'm 16 years old and uncircumcised. When I was about 12, I was first able to retract the foreskin, although it was slightly forced because I don't think it was quite ready. I noticed that the head had a slight discolouration and was grey, and I didn't think anything of it until recently. I've been cleaning under the foreskin and exposing it to air every day but it is still greyish, 4 years later, with a reddish undertone. Glans is also still quite sensitive. It has decreased in sensitivity since age 12 but I still feel some pain. Sometimes the head also sticks to the foreskin and is not easily retractable without saliva to help it along. I've considered circumcision but my dad said that it is unnecessary. I'm just wondering if this is normal or not, and if there's something I can do to solve the problems listed. Thanks!

Hi Nosam:

You are blessed with a normal, protective, highly-innervated, erogenous foreskin. Many unforeskinned guys would envy your foreskin. You display great wisdom in wanting to avoid circumcision,

You should thank your parents for protecting your physical integrity. Because of your physical integrity you will be able to have sex the way nature intended it.

Women are much more likely to have an orgasm when the male is foreskinned.

Your foreskin protects your glans penis and keeps it moist and sensitive.

Being foreskinned is normal, beneficial, and healthy in every way. Being foreskinned provides the highest level of health and well-being.

The foreskin - What it does

The foreskin performs several important functions. Most of these functions center on making sex more enjoyable, not only for just one, but for both partners.

Protection

Makes sex feel better

Lubricates during intercourse

Lubricates during masturbation

Reduces the drop insensitivity through age

Allows the erection to grow

Increases sensitivity slowing intercourse

The foreskin - What it is

First what the foreskin is not: The foreskin is not a flap of skin on the end of the penis. This kind of terminology has been used to imply that the foreskin is something redundant with no real function, that can easily be removed with no consequence. This is not the case.

The foreskin is special in that it is not directly attached as most skin is. It is free to slide up and down the shaft of the penis with almost no friction. The foreskin can be thought of as a continuation of the tube of skin that covers the shaft of the penis, but much longer. This tube of skin is firmly attached only at the base of the penis and at the head of the penis. In between the points of attachment this tube of skin has the special property that easily slides on the shaft of the penis rather than being firmly connected as most skin is. The foreskin's length and the fact that it is unattached in the middle allows it to slide up and down the shaft of the penis and roll in on itself over the head of the penis (see diagram below).

The foreskin is long enough so that it continues down the shaft of the penis and rolls in on itself over the head of the penis. For those of you who are only familiar with circumcised penises, that means that an intact penis has two to three times as much skin that a circumcised penis.

A foreskin is long. An intact penis has two to three times the length of skin that a circumcised penis has. When flaccid, most of this length is taken up in the double fold of skin covering the head of the penis. When erect the foreskin can roll back to allow the penis to lengthen while still allowing the skin on the shaft of the penis to remain loose. The foreskin is often long enough to cover the head of the penis while erect.

The foreskin is extremely sensitive. It is filled with nerve endings called stretch receptors that fire when they are stretched, rolled, or massaged.

The head of a foreskinned penis does not look like the head of a deforeskinned penis. Your color, which is suspect is actually purple is normal

It is normal for the glans to be sensitive because your foreskin has been protecting it for your whole life.

The foreskin is there to protect the head of the penis and keep it moist and sensitive. If the head hurts to touch, then don't touch it. Keep your foreskin forward to protect the head. It will probably get less tender later.

I don't think anything is wrong with your penis. It sounds normal to me. The head is supposed to be sensitive.

There is no reason for you to touch the head so just don't touch it. Pull your foreskin forward to cover the head to protect it and you should be fine.

Masturbation works best if you keep the foreskin forward where it covers and protects the head. The sensitivity makes masturbation feel great.

You do not have to retract your foreskin to receive oral. The foreskin is filled with nerves and loves to be sucked. Just tell your girlfriend to not pull back your foreskin and keep it forward and suck on the foreskin.

Make sure that your partner is well lubricated when you have attempt penetration. You have the option to wear a condom for protection.

Those aren't problems, that's just the way it is. You're doing fine, you do NOT need any cutting.

Just keep peeling it back and touching your glans to desensitize it.
The gray may be smegma. you can remove that by washing it with plain water.
