From my knees to my toes have been swollen or have alot of fluid in them for the past 6 months or so and have been getting steadily worse and I can't figure out why. My doctor keeps putting me on a diuretic but it doesn't seem to do anything. I am on about 10 medications for my excruciating pain as well as bipolar disorder, and I am also getting injections into my sciatic nerve every week to combat the pain. None of my meds have changed in the time frame for which this ailment has been going on. I have had surgery on my shoulder but that was 2 months after this had begun. Recently I have noticed numbness from my waist down but only when I am sitting on a solid chair (one with no padding). I had a full check-up done on my heart this time last year only because serious heart conditions run in my family, all of my tests showed my heart to be in great condition, my doctor is sending me back to a cardiologist just to be sure nothing has suddenly changed. Has this or anything along these lines happened to anyone else?

WOW, someone sure needs to find something for you. I had the expected lower leg swelling from having bypass surgery 20 years ago. It was only in the leg they took the vein out of to use in my chest. I had that for years and it was slowly getting worse. It didn't hurt but it was disgusting. When adjusting my blood pressure meds over the years the docs had tried many different ones and quit many due to unpleasant side effects. One that I quit because it dried out my mouth completely while sleeping was hydrochlorothiazide. I still had some on hand and decided to see if that might help the fluid buildup go away so I started taking it in place of whatever I was taking as a supplement to my regular pill. I reasoned that if I took it in the morning the dry mouth effects would not be as bothersome as taking it in the evening as I had before. It worked!!! I now have no swelling at all in that leg. I don't know what you've tried or if my experience will help you but for what it's worth that's my experience.

I am only a 35 year old male so that might make my issue seemed more odd than it does now.
If I wear even mildly tight socks for 20 minutes and then pull them down, where my sock was becomes a minimum of an inch skinnier than above my sock. I also constantly have that thing called pitted adema on the tops of my feet, I can leave roughly a half an inch deep pit that takes about 25-30 seconds to go back to the shape it was before. On the top but more on the outer side my feet look a little yellow with some red dots.
