Basically i am 14 and have started my period I tried to insert a tampon and had a mirror when I looked down there there was two things I am confused about:
1. Inside the opening of my vagina hole the is a white/pink thing I can't see a hole in it so I don't think it's my cervix what is it?
2. My vagina hole isn't very big I dont believe a tampon would fit even if there was nothing inside I know it may be my hymen so I read about it and mine sounds different that's if it is my hymen, it is around the outer edge of my hole and is pink and fleshy quite thick I think what is it?
please help me I am seriously worried and want to wear a tampon when swimming etc

Hi guest, I would say what you describe is quite natural for your hymen, there are several different types of hymen, some have one single hole in the centre some have a thin piece of flesh going through the centre and some completely cover the opening with just small perforations in them and occasionally some have no openings at all.
