When I had my tram done I had multiable infections. I finally gave up. I am now in constant pain. I can not stand or sit very long. At times I can not eat. This is not the way to live. Any suggestions ?

i have had some of the same problems. They gave me a tummy tuck. I look about 9 months pregnant I have two hernias but the doctors say that I have to lose 30 pounds before he will consider surgery. I feel that they are just trying to discourage me to have surgery because they don't want to correct their mistake. Had I known this would have happened I would never have had the surgery that they thought would suit me best.

I had this surgery in 2014 and really regret it. I had to have another surgery to remove a big section of the breast tissue that died, another to do fat grafting and add a larger mesh due to the large abdominal hernia. Now I have a smaller concave breast and a giant bulge in my abdomen. The abdominal tightness is also very uncomfortable. They suggest more surgery. No thanks.

There is a proven repair. I had it done in 2013. I developed 3 hernias as a result of the Tram Flap. I have a FB group called TRAM/DIEP- Complications And Hope. 30 members and growing. Many have been repaired. There are 2 surgeons on LI, NY that have a 10 yr proven to hold repair for those hernias. I am one that had the repair in 2013. It is holding. You can contact them directly as well. Dr. Ron Isralei and Dr. George Denoto III work in unison to repair hernias after these surgeries. Tram flaps come with a 40% risk of hernia formation. See my post above. I wish we could abolish this surgery. Perhaps one day we will succeed. But for now, I am helping do damage control by directing women to resources and support for those that have had Abdominal complications related to this surgery. My FB group is listed above in the comments.
