Hi everyone.  I am so thankful that I found you all.  I thought I was alone in this.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 at the age of 36.  I had a bilateral tram flap done.  I was told it was just like getting a tummy tuck and few people have complications.  I ended up having black oozing tissue on my abdomin and both of my breasts.  It kept progressing until I had a hole in my abdomin about 12 in long and 7 inches wide.  I had to have a pump put on on my abdomin and both my breasts for 8 months.  I now have horrible scarring on my abdomin and breasts (if you can call them that).  I have had scar revision surgeries, hernia surgeries, etc.  Nothing helped and each time I would get the same necrosis.  My doctor told me I had some new condition that my blood clotted each time prevently blood getting to the tissue so it would die.  He wrote it up for some medical journal.  I have lived with constant pain, burning, tearing feelings in my abdomin.  pain and pulling in my breasts and rib cage, stomach areas.  I cannot do simple housework or pick up kids.  I can't drive, can't sleep, can't work.  I go for bi monthly trigger point injections in my abdomin to help with t he pain, but nothing takes it away.  My dr has given me low doses of percocet but this doesn't help the pain and he wont increase it even though I have never been addicated to anything.  I weighed 160 before the surgeries and now weigh 205 and cannot lose any weight because even walking hurts.  I live with back pain and muscle spasms constantly.  My husband was horrified with the necrosis and the scarring so although we are still together, we have not been intimate since the surgery.  I live with pain, nausea, vomiting, fatigue and when I tell my oncologist and other doctors how I feel they keep saying they haven't seen this before and cannot tell me why I am like this but that I am to young to be disabled.  I am so depressed and can't take much more of this.  I wanted to know if anyone would be interested instarting a facebook page so that we can be in contact with each other and try to help each of us through this.  If so, please contact me. thank you.

I had TRAM Flap surgery in August of 2012. By late September, I had developed a huge abdominal bulge. Many doctors told me it was so large it couldn't be fixed. Luckily, I found Dr. Ron Israeli & Dr. George DeNoto who have developed a technique for repairing abdominal bulges and complications from TRAM Flap. I can give you their contact information if you contact me by email. They are the only ones in the states who perform this technique.

Hi Beth,
Wanting to know if you had the surgery with the above Doctors Israeli/DeNoto and if so what was your outcome.
Has anyone seen these doctors and had their bulges corrected.
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks
Rose

I had a tram flap operation in 1999 and after a few months also had a bulge in my stomach and the doctors never explained to me why. The tissue in my tram flap died and I ended up with a huge abscess in my breast. I was off work for about 10 months hooked up to a wound vacuum that did not work, finally I went in for a second opinion and the doctor just stitched it up. I am still having problems with a tram flap in my breast today..

Cont'd I was missing the muscle in my right breast so I had to get the tram flap operation because of that I went through eight operations and you would think that every doctor would realize that if one side is smaller than the other that you would put the bigger size in the smaller side but apparently none of them realized that. The courts don't think that being lopsided is that big of a deal, you can't sue for that and the doctors are very well protected.

I think a Facebook page would be wonderful for all of us that have gone through this surgery.
My name is Kim I had mine done 19 years ago, I too have a large lump under my breast the doctor said
it was swelling at first and would go down. 19 years later it's still there. Now I too am in terrible pain sometimes it just takes me turning my head to bring it on. Muscle spasms in my back , sides and stomach most of the time. It's getting harder to do things. I am at work at my desk with a heating pad and my stomach is going crazy. It's time for me to see a doctor but not sure what they will do for me I'm scared.I had the surgery when I was 32 they misjudged my mid section and had to move my ribs and put my old belly button on my breast so it's a big scar let's face it this surgery leaves massive scars. I had a baby when I was 38 and they had to do a c-section which entailed cutting the muscle again. Glad to know their are other people that know what I am going through.
