So, chagas disease is caused by trypanosomiasis bugs? I read this somewhere on a website. I was always under the impression that chagas disease was spread through blood, but obviously I was wrong the whole time! Are there any folks here who actually have chagas disease? Can you explain how you got it?

Well, chagas disease is actually spread through bugs as well as blood. Bugs are the source of chagas disease but once a person has caught it, he can spread it on to other people through his blood, because there is no cure for chagas disease and a person stays ill all his life once he has it. Often, people are not even aware that they have chagas disease.
