I am 20 years old and I tried having sex with my boyfriend for the first time the other night. I was expecting my period to come that day. We started to have sex but we noticed that I was bleeding so we stopped. I assumed my period had just come to I went to the bathroom to clean up. When I sat down on the toilet, a lot of blood and a clump came out. I've had clots before in my period, so I assumed it was that and just put a tampon in. About 15 minutes later, I was standing up and felt a lot of blood pass so I went to the bathroom and I had already soaked all the way through the tampon and was still bleeding through it. I didn't understand what was going on, but assumed it was just a really really heavy period. I tried to go out but as soon as I started walking I could feel more and more blood passing out.I had to go home and I had completely soaked through all of my clothes, I had to throw them out. I tried to clean up, but I had to change my tampons AND pads almost every 15 minutes. I also noticed long, fleshy, bloody strips of flesh coming out. I was so scared and I was bleeding so much. I laid down and propped my legs up. I think this helped to slow the bleeding and also made me feel better. However, anytime I stood up I would bleed more and I started to feel extremely dizzy and lightheaded, I think from all the blood loss. I was eventually comfortable enough to sleep on my back and I also noticed that the blood had slowed to my normal period amount. The next morning, I still felt very lightheaded and I tried eating because I hadn't eaten much the day before. This was two days ago, and I feel much better now. Could this have just been a combination of my first time and having sex right before my period? I've heard that having sex during your period can cause contractions which cause you to bleed quicker and to end your period sooner. Or could this be a more serious condition? I have never been to the gyno but I know I need to go soon. And this has scared me so much that I really want to talk with someone about it.

Okay, first off, I've had a white vaginal discharge that looks like tissue, kind of I guess. And I do have a smell that I didn't get until about two or so months ago, it went away after my last period for a couple weeks, but is coming back, like if I'm sitting in class I can smell it, and I start freaking out and wonder if anyone smells it. but I can't seem to make it go away, but I'm kind of scared to go to the gyno, because for 1.) it's weird the idea of having some one checking out your junk, and 2. I'm kind of scared to find out what it is. Does anyone have any idea what it is or could be, and any way to fix it without getting meds and that you can do at home, because I've heard that they make it go away but when it comes back it's worse and harder to cure.

.

Worked in mental health and had to take people the Dr. sound s similar to what a client was experiencing often called Trich, is an std. most meds treat disease that the go away, how ever there are some that you have to live with and try and minimize the symptoms. the big key is the longer you have it the more damage you can suffer from it. Most gyno's are pretty cool and know this is not an easy thing for a woman to go through, but it does beat not getting a disease treated before you either give it to some one else or suffer irreparable damage from the infection, or simply the relief when it is something simple.

A D&C is a type of surgery where the lining of your uterus is scraped "clean" via your vaginal opening. You usually have one if you have suffered a miscarriage, and your body has not expelled the gestational sack= or fetus. I have been through one after my second miscarriage. I had thought I was 4 months pregnant, but in reality, the baby had not grown past the gestational phase, as in it was still just the sac. I only found out I had miscarried after going through a car accident, and they had performed an emergency ultrasound when I had cramping and bleeding. Because of the car accident, they waited to see if my body would naturally expel the gestational sac, as it seemed to "kick start" the expulsion process. However, I never had a full blown period and expulsion. I had to have a D&C in order to rid my body of the gestational sac. From what my current OB has told me, a D&C is also performed if you suffer from endometriosis, which is a thickening/clotting/scarring of the uterus. Every menstrual cycle, the lining of the uterus wall is broken down, which is the tissue you see when you have your period. Over time, the lining of the uterus wall gets thicker from scarring of menstrual cycle after menstrual cycle, and can cause blockage to the fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc. Your doctor may require a D&C every so often to remove scar tissue from the lining build up. I hope this helped! Granted, I'm not a medical professional. I'm just letting you know, based on personal experience.

You should see a GYNO as soon as possible. It sounds like your body is hemorraging, which is not normal. If you are bleeding that much, and your require a towel, get to the emergency room as soon as possible. Something is evidently wrong.

Hi, I've recently suffered from a recent problem. I'm only 15 and started my period about 5 years ago and this has never happened to me, so obviously I'm pretty worried. I've recently been prescribed  the combined pill because ii was suffering from crippling pain and i cannot afford to be off school as i have my GCSEs. I am on the first week off from taking it until i start the new packet. I've noticed a correlation between posts on here and various other sites saying that it can either be because of a miscarriage, abortion and so on, from being on birth control and the pill and also from heavy physical endurance. I can relate to the two latter explanations but i am still very very very worried as this has never happened to me before, perviously the worst I've experienced was practically hemorrhaging blood and very thick clots usually at the beginning of my cycle, not lumps of definite pinky-reddy-bloody flesh. If anyone could give me some insight on what this is before i consult my gp about what it is i would be very greatful.
Thank you, Harriett.

it's probably an std, i had the same problem before. i went into my gyno though and just peed in a cup and got blood work done like a normal std check. if it's not an std its vaginal bacteria that is just built up from sex that needs to get cleaned out and they give you pills for that and its gone in a couple days. take the pills and drink lots of cranberry juice and water.

I am 18 and have been on birth control for almost 2 years. After the first 5 months i started experiencing pain and very unusual discharge. Early in the spring i had a large discharg while i was at work with A LOT OF pain and vomiting. This might sound a little gross but i wrapped it in paper towel and went to the hospital. They were positive i had a miscarriage. So i went on as it were. Then twice now something similar has happened so i took a picture to bring into my doctory and he assured me that it was just the lining of my uturus that has built around the entrance of the uturus from the cervix because i have not been sexually active in a few months, also that it is perfectly normal.
As for the pain that is associated with your mentrations if you wear a tampon DONT wear it unless 100% nessasry. This might sound gross but get a pack of black underware and black pj pants or Cosmo's periode panties. My body fights against having a tampon or a pad because my area can not breath.

I am 20 years old and have been sexually active for a year and half now. I got my period at 10 years old, I had sever pain in my lower back and right front side. My periods were heavy flow and lasted 21 days out of the month. I went to the gyn who tried everything pills,  patch, shot etc. nothing seemed to help with the pain. I was tested for PCOD and Endocromecyos thing I had no regular problem that could be determined. When I was 14 I had so much pain I was crying, screaming... I was contracting. I had a HUGE bloody tissue come out of me (I went to the ER and they said it was fine). At 16 I went in to the hospital with really bad pain on my right side. There was a 6 cm cyst. The doctor removed it and within 28 days there was another 5cm cyst, which he also removed. At 18 my gyn put in an IUD to help. I have no periods, no cramps, no bleeding, no spotting.. no signs of a period whatsoever! At 19 I went into the ER with more pain on the right side. I had a 9cm cyst on the right side again. The doctor removed it the next day along with 3/4 of my right ovary. ( I asked her to take the whole ovary but she didnt). I am now 20 and have a 7cm cyst on my right ovary. Every day, when I have a ovarian cyst, I have bloody tissue come out, blood clots come out, and a nasty odor. I have been to the ER and they warned me that it could burst and send me into shock if I dont see a doctor. Well I dont have insurance currently, so I am going to try to wait it out.. but for me it has been kind of normal for that stuff to come out.

However, I would recommend if you have any questions you should take them to your GYN to answer.

Um, I've never had any sexual intercourses before, nor have I taken pill or whatever of the sort, but I'm having somewhat similar problems.

I found some sort of fleshy deflated balloon thing... It looks wrinkly, a little like a pinky finger, but smaller, and covered in blood. I freaked out 'cause I found it on my pad during menstruation. It doesn't have veins, nor is it white. And it literally looks like flesh.

I've got no clue what it is. I thought it might've been some funky looking blood clot (which, I swear, does not resemble anything like a clot), but it felt like flesh (as what it looks like). I think it might've been some sort of organ...? Although, I'm not sure how that came out. Well, I freaked out and threw it away. So good bye to whatever it was.

I feel normal though, and I don't really get any period cramps or pains. And I'm pretty sure this problem isn't common... I can't find anything on the Internet about this situation.

I'm curious about what it was. If anyone knows about this, please mention it?

I've just recently had the same experience and ask a nurse about it and got told it sounds like a hymen.
here is some info on it....The hymen is a membrane that surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening. It forms part of the vulva, or external genitalia. The size of the hymenal opening may or may not increase with age. Although an often practiced method, it is not possible to confirm that a girl or woman is a virgin by examining her hymen. The hymen does not wear away with age and is usually present from the time of birth until death.

anyway what the nurse said was that it is simply the hymen splitting and dropping out of you due to loosing your virginity, she said it doesn't happen strait away as it is still attached to the sides of the virginal wall or something so will slowly break off more and more with sex depending.

i was reading some of your posts and it seems strange that this is the diagnosis as some of you have never had sex before. I was thinking are those of you who haven't had sex well into sport and running? I ask this because I've been told this can also happen from sports ect. so when you do have sex you may or may not bleed due to sports.

I'm not saying this is the answer I'm just simply throwing around some ideas and as this has only happened to me once I'm not an expert on the topic.

That is exactly what happened to me. Exactly. Did you ever get any answers?

Actually, yeah. I do play sports. I think this helps. Thank you!

But...is this normal? Or in better words, it's not bad...right? Or unhealthy? I've heard something about surgery to restore your hymen. That's optional...right? Something about bleeding or of the sort.

Thank you for the advice, I saw the doctor about it and it turned out to just be nothing just blood collecting. Since I've gotten used to the pill my periods have dramatically lightened and the pain I used to have is now just a mild discomfort. Thank you for the responce.

This just happen to about ten min ago. I think it's a depo side effect. I just received the first shot in march and I was changing my tamp and felt a warm blob on my finger after I inserted it I looked down thinking it was a clot. It reminded me of flesh, pink slime, but it was really thick and dense. I had to google it and see what in the hells this thing was! after reading I did notice my period has been watery. I started yesterday. I notice terrible cramping labor like pains earlier today and took 650 mg of Ib. It didn't kick in till way later.
