First, I want to say, I am not on any type of birth control method. I have been married for nearly 5 months. I haven't had a period in over 1 year, until last week.
Last week i began having pains in my lower left hand side, which worried me because when i was 16 years old, i was diagnosed with poly-cysts in my ovaries. I hadn't felt that sharp pain in about 3-4 years! Two (2) days later, i began my period. Which has continued until today. Each and everyday, my body discharges large lumps of blood, which concerns me. The day before yesterday, my body discharged some form of tissue, which is unsettleing, it was maybe 3 inches long. I don't know what to do.
I have NEVER had a regular period, and when i did have my period, it would last 2 maybe 3 days, tops! i went to my gyno, and he ran some blood work, and performed a boipsy (don't recall the correct name of the procedure), and he got tissue of my inners! Very painful by the way. He called me back, and said everything was normal. He put me on the pill to regulate my period, which i never filled the prescription. He did tell me that i might need help conceving when i was ready, which is still far from now.
I read other womens blogs, and i hope i didn't have a miscarraige or have cancer. - Please give me some feed back!

If your doctor said that everything was normal, then I guess that it was. The clots you had during your period was probably because the period was pretty heavy which is understandable in a way, since you haven't had it in a year.
You could have been ovulated but had no period, so you have discharged a a lot now. This is just my theory. When periods are heavy and the flow is fast, the body cannot release enough anti-coagulants that usually prevent blood from clotting.
