Hello, a few days ago I experienced a stringy clear/white discharge. I have noticed an increase in the amount of discharge since then. Also I have pain in my abdomen and thighs and lower back..I am worried, I also made an appointment with my OB/GYN but it's not until next Tuesday...can anyone help me to ease my mind?

I had this fairly large golf ball size lump on my inner wall of the vagina (right side) i think.. and uhm it hurt when you tried to sit and such but now when i got up it felt abit.. odd down there and when i had a look i saw this type of jelly-glue-clear-white and wet stuff down there. I thought this might of been serious so i tried to get all the stuff out and yes it did come from the lump (thank god).
I just wanted to know if this is a common thing to happen and if its normal to go through it now and again (eventually).
I am aged 17 at the moment the lump burst inside or outside i don't know iv been trying to find the hole of where its coming out from but its hard to tell because a lot of the jelly-like substance is coming out (yes the lump was fairly big and was located close to my anus/vaginal hole section).
Sorry if this sounds disturbing to anyone but i just want to know if i should get this checked out in case if i might need a needle / shot for infections and to get it cleaned out maybe? some of it feels like its still in there which is why i want to know if i should get it checked out or leave it as is.
Thanks.

Hi I'm not a doctor but do have 2 siblings who are one and will try to help those with questions. I would definitely schedule an appointment with a gynocologist or at your local clinic to get checked out. I know it's scary at first but it's better to get checked out early on and find out if you have something serious so you can get the proper medical help. Clear vaginal discharge is normal and will most likely start once you reach puberty... it can become more thick if you are ovulating or become sexually arroused. If it changes color, has an odor to it, itches, or you see signs of blood when you know it's not your period then it could be a sign of something more serious like a yeast infection, pregnancy, or an std and yes you can still get stds if you use a condom with your partner. You can get the most common type of virus known as HPV which 90% of the human population has and which men can't get tested for so they won't know they have it. It's best to get the HPV vaccine before you become sexually active. This will gaurd you against most strains of HPV. HPV can cause cervial cancer in the long run so it's best to get the vaccine which your insurance will most likely cover up to the age of 26. After that age you can still get it but it will prob. cost around $200 per shot. If you do have an std it's not the end of the world there are antibiotics out there that will help you but you don't want to get one b/c they can cause complications with our reprodcutive systems in the future when it comes to having children. Also once you become sexually active you should get yearly pap tests to stay healthy. As far as pregnancy goes it's best to wait till you meet the right guy and settle down with him to become sexually active. Most men who care about you won't mind waiting until you become married to be sexually active. Believe me it's a lot safer and more enjoyable. No man should pressure you to have sex and if he does just kick him to the curb he's not worth it. Maybe that's putting it bluntly but it's true. I hope this all helps those of you out there with questions. I know some of the school programs out there don't cover this type of stuff so I'm just trying to help. Best of luck to you.
