Vaginal ulceration/painful sores

I am 17, over the past week I have developed ulcer-like sores on my vaginal region. I was alright Sunday, feeling a bit sick begining to catch a cold, sneezing frequenly, bad head aches, nasial congestion, and acheyness of my body. Sunday night I accidently scratched myself on my right labia, it hurt a bit more than it should of but I thought nothing of it and it did not itch. Monday, i stayed home because of my headache, acheyness and other almost flu like symptoms, but I was still eating fine. The night of Monday, I did not shower because I felt too bad to do much. Tuesday, I was still feeling sick and wakeing up sneezing. That night I showerd after noticing that the place i had scratched was stinging a little and irritated, but I thought this was common for not bathing the night before. On Wednesday I was feeling sort of better and planned on going to school the next day, even though I was developing a cough. The night of Wednesday as I was showering I noticed that a sore had opened on the right labia where i had the scratch as well as 3 other lumps. These lumps were ulcer-like, they did not blister, they were irritated but not itchy, and were not pimple or bump shaped. The next day the spots had gotten worse and opened up even more to sore spots, 2 spots were open now and the other 2 were still lumps. I visited the Women's center, my doctor immidately diagnosed it as herpes. I was scared and confused, I have only had 3 partners in my life time. The last time I have been involved sexualy was 5 months ago, why would something like that appear now? I understood that it could result from a weakened immune system, but iv been far more ill since then. My lab results are still pending, now I am expected to take Valacyclovir twice a day and apply a cream to the sores. The places have now all opened and the medication seems to have no effect. Other things I am concerned about that may be in affect is that my nose is full of bloody mucous, not alot but it is present. Also, what is not full of "bloody mucous", my period was suposed to of started on Wednesday, it is now Friday night and nothing has happened. I am experiencing small cramps and pains, but nothing else. I have been searching the internet for any possible explanations but I am still confused and scared. I have even wondered if there was the possibility of this being something like MRSA, but I dont know. If anyone could respond to this, I would be thankful.
