Hi, I'm 20 and I've been having the same problem for the past couple of weeks on my left side.

Like four weeks ago i started a desk job so have been sitting at a computer for a long time since then.

Also for the last four weeks i've been carrying my mobile phone around a LOT in my left pocket, when i didn't really used to carry it around.

May sound stupid but could they be a possibilities for the cause?

If anybody has started desk jobs and/or been carrying a mobile around a lot in the side where the pain occurs, please notify :-)

I have had this problem a number of times and my yoga instructor solved it for me! My symptoms were similar to most of you here... swollen and painful vas deferens, usually on the right side for me. My most recent bout with it felt like I'd been kicked hard in the testical. I've been to my doctor for it who didn't have a good idea what might be causing it. He prescribed antibiotics. Usually it would just go away over time after taking it easy on it. It seemed to happen either after strenuous exercise and/or sitting in an uncomfortable chair for long periods of time. THE SOLUTION!... My yoga instructor told me about the psoas muscle, a hip flexor that is attached to the top front of the Femur (top leg bone) and goes through the pelvis to the spine where it attaches near where the lumbar and thoracic curves of the spine meet. You're probably all familiar with the path of the vas deferens through the body from researching this problem. Here is an image of the location of the psoas muscles... Notice anything interesting about it's location relative to the location of the vas deferens? :-) When this muscle is tight from sitting in a bad position over time or from various forms of exercise I think it must 'pinch' or otherwise irritate the vas deferens causing inflammation and pain. Just google the following search terms for your quick, easy... and free solution... Start gently, especially if you are very tight. Try various stretches to see what works best for you. Some will stretch the muscle at different points. If you are like me you will be amazed at how quickly you begin to feel relief. Peace to all of you and much love to my yoga instructor, Pam Schulte. -Keith Winkler

Hi everyone!!! Yes I too have had the SAME problems and have had the SAME test and have seen all the SAME doctors! I have been reading this thread from its beginning in 07. My problems have existed for about 8 months. I was already to write what has helped me when to my surprise I read the same thing in the last post! YOGA! I told my urologist that hot showers and stretching gave me some relief he said " I guess do that if it helps." What a total DIP$h*t!!! So I started doing Bikrams hot yoga and felt a lot of my symptoms go away within 2 weeks. I also think that it may be a muscular imbalance or injury because when I havent been regular in stretching and yoga the symptoms start to reoccur. Hope this helps! I know how frustrating and nerve wrecking this condition is!

Wow, it is terrible to be reading through this thread. To hear stories about people suffering for so long is a horrible thing. Good news is - I think I have the cure for everybody...

I too suffered for a month with the same symptoms everybody here is describing. At one point the pain got so bad it brought on a fever much like people have describing in this thread. I went to see a Urologist (twice) and the treatment he prescribed seems to be working.

The treatment is four parts. First and foremost, the single most important thing you guys need to do is go out and buy a few jockstraps. Everybody here has been way over medicating and not giving their boys enough support to heal. You need to wear the jockstrap for AT LEAST week. Don't even take it off for too long during that week. You should even sleep in the jockstrap if you can. It was difficult for me to sleep with it the first couple nights as my epididymis was too inflamed, but as it got better I was able to wear the jock at night. Supporting and keeping your boys elevated throughout the day is the most critical part of the treatment, so don't cheap out and get some tighty-whities, get the jock. I didn't listen to the doc at first and tried to get away with tighty-whities and ended up back in his office. You'll also notice that the jock helps a ton when you are sitting down in a chair. Point be spoken - WEAR A JOCKSTRAP.

Next you should be taking an anti-inflammatory. My doctor prescribed me Meloxicam (Mobic) after over-the-counter NSAIDs like Motrin were not effective. I was also prescribed Doxycycline for ten days in combo with the Meloxicam. Even though an infection is not present the Doxycycline has strong anti-inflammatory effects and does a decent job of getting absorbed in the urinary/reproductive tract.

The last part of the treatment is soaking in a warm bath twice a day for 20 - 30 minutes. The soaking is critical as it gives your boys a break from the forces of gravity and promotes healing. Don't skip out on the soaking.

One more thing that I did, which was not directed by the doctor, was pay extra close attention to my sack. If I was getting out of the tub, which would cause my sack to be at its loosest, I would hold my boys so they did not hang down and put stress on my epididymis. If I was sitting down and not wearing my jock I'd also support my sack with my hand. I basically treated my sack as if it were a broken bone. I also read in this post about doing some yoga stretches. Although, I don't think it is as critical as the four instructions above, I do think stretching has helped. Another thing that seems to help while taking the antibiotic is rubbing one out once a day or every other day. Don't stop enjoying yourself fellas.

With all that being said, another important thing to keep in mind is to not overdo anything. Don't soak too much. Don't self-examing your boys too often. Don't take more meds than prescribed... etc. The only thing that you should do in excess is wear that jockstrap.

If you guys do my treatment for two weeks you should be all better. And obviously you will notice great improvements within 2 or 3 days.

Best of luck!

I came across this thread while searching for clues as to what may be ailing my left vas deferens. I just started experiencing a dull, achy feel on my left vas def, and the cord actually feels thick and hard as if it may be full of dried sperm or something. Is that normal?

More important, for the last yr, I have been suffering from systemic paresthesia/pruritus (numbness/tingling/itching) that cannot be explained. I have been to my Int Med doc, dermatologist, allergist, and recently neurologist. All blood, allergy, CT tests come back neg. I recently noted that as I masturbate, I feel the onset of paresthesia/pruritus. And it continues for the following 3-4 days, then stops for the most part. I could kill myself and none of my doctors know what is causing it or can offer a pill to take away the itching. My neurologist gave me pills, and I called his nurse 3 weeks later to say they didn't stop the itching. I explained to her that i recently noted that after I orgasm, the paresthesia/itch comes on and to tell this to my doc. Well, his nurse called me back and told me the doc said I should stop the meds and go see a psychologist!

After reading this thread, I think I may have a deep infection in my epidymis that the UTI or blood tests have not picked up. I read one time that when you feel like peeing after orgasm, that it may be a sign of infection. Well, I have felt this for the longest time. Plus, my wife contracted UTI after we had unprotected sex a few mos back. So I think I have an infection (and for a long time). When I massaged my vas def today, I felt the tingling/itch brought on in my body. Maybe the infection is leaking out into my bloodstream when I orgasm or massage my vas def? I have also had occasional lower/mid back pain but I think that is age (I am 38).

Does anyone else have similar symptoms (tingling/numb/itch through body)? For those who had infections or who took antibiotics for a long time and felt relief...did you ever feel like urinating after sex (before starting the meds) and if so, has that stopped?

Good luck to all and take care of your jewels.

Wow, this website is a lifesaver I have had similar problems and was given Ciprofloxacin for 10days and felt like I was dying.

I was washing my car and got out quickly going from side to side putting on amorall and noticed exiting the driver side seat and felt a pinch on the left side of my sack/testicular tube but it was towards my body more not my ball.

Well the urologist I am going to is not being very helpful because he doesn’t listen for one and when I do try and explain he says that’s normal and to take Motrin but he hasn’t told me what "it" is???

Did I pull something? Tear something? Did I twist the vas deferens or twist the balls like testicular torsion? What is "it" that’s is normal???

I have had ultrasounds and nuclear tests and the blood flow is fine and they don’t see anything wrong and continue to say that it was just epydidimitis and that the pain will persist for, get this, MONTHS! The dude told me months and when I aske for pain pills he said ABSOLUTLEY NOT.

I looked him in the eyes and told him I’ll be walking and then it will feel like I am being stabbed in the leg for Christ sake and he walked out and said "well I don’t need to see you unless the pain doesn’t stop" Didn’t I just tell him that the pain wasn’t stopping?????

Well I think that I had a bladder infection but I might have tore something in my vas deferens and the infection got into the tubes and they think it’s getting better but its good on some days and really bad on other days.

I think that everyone should try to remember if they twisted their under carriage towards the taint because I understand that it is wrapped in muscles and nerves so if you pull or twist your tubes can the urinary tract get in there and cause the havoc we have all been experiencing????

I too have been suffering from a testicular and lower abdominal pain. After a year or so of visits to my GP, a physio, a urologist, a gastoenterologist and a surgeon and a variety of interesting tests and treatments, the cause was identified - my office chair. I have an underlying condition of a bowel adhesion that is aggravated by inflamation of my urinary tract and 'boys' caused by the chair. What the problem with the chair is I don't know but changing to one with a softer, flatter and longer cushion and making sure that I use it properly has significantly reduce the pain I experience.

In addition to changing my chair, I use much more supportive underwear, lost weight, started running and have taken up pilates. I used to do Yoga but after several recommendations by the physio's but I find the principle of core strength used Pilates a real benefit over Yoga, however I do miss the relaxation and meditation of Yoga.

Another simple mediation of some of my symptoms, specifically those caused by the adhesion, was to chew my food thoroughly before swallowing. A very simple act that has led not only in a direct reduction in symptoms but also increased enjoyment of food and meal times.

My symptoms have now moderated considerably with occassional recurrences, on recurrence I typically do a stock take of what has changed and roll back.

My frustration is now over finding a chair that does not irritate the condition, which is why I was using Google that led me here. Does anyone know where I can get good advice about my chair?

I have had this off and on but tonight has been the most severe and has lasted me about 2 hours now (usually lasts 10-15 minutes). My question to all of you is... Do you sit for long periods throughout the day without any physical activity? Where Boxers? Smoke? Recently stopped having sex or masturbating? These are all things I have done within the last 2 years some more recently then others. How many of you fit into these questions?

i have had similar experiences with testi and vas deferen pain. My sensation isn't as painful as what some would have described, but i can feel it through my abdomen and leg as many have described. My experience is border line between discomfort and pain, and only happens for a few seconds randomly. It alternates between left and right side. My first time feeling this was when i was 16, and I'm 23 now.

It has never affected urination or ejaculation, and everything else feels normal.

I have had the same problem. I have read through all of these before, looked up everything I could think of, Tried different doctors and medicine. I am happy to announce my pain is almost gone because of a couple of books. Please take a look at. "A head ache in the pelvis" then this book refered me to "Trigger point therapy " by Claire Davis. I think these have the answers we are looking for. Please don' knock it till you try it.

The last doctor that I spoke with about this said that it was testicular torsion. Can cause incredibly intense pain when at its worst. Unfortunately, we relocated out of state before I could get a proper examination. Will be visiting my new doctor tomorrow to discuss in detail again.

I have had the same symptoms for a year and a half now, and the pain is so bad I can hardly go out and play :-(. It started from a partner who had some kind of possible fungle infection, the tube in my right testicle feels swollen, I have gone out and gotten std tested several times and they have come back neg. I think I narrowed it down to a fungle infection but doctors havent been much help.

all the pain is in the tube of my right testicle and I have been treating it by soaking my sack in applecider vinegar since it's a fungai killer and easily treats fungle infections. But this is so deep i don't know if it will help. Anti biotics haven't worked and I have been prescribed them several times.

Once I took a shot of vitamins, it was a mix of every vitamin you need, in a liquid, and it caused me to puke, and almost immidiatly a layer of fungal skin shed off the surface of my genitals. I'm thinking I'm going to try a vitamin treatment on myself next month along with apple cider vinegar. The jock strap idea might help, but I have too many roomates to be able to take two baths a day for any reason.

I really hope this goes away soon, I feel like I'm losing my life. and I can't find any relief. It has been a year and a half and I'm suffering........... :-(((((((((((
