My friend and I got on the topic of losing our virginity today in class. She said that she was 12 the first time she had sex. I was 15 (my first time was back in January and now I regret it). Well, we were reading online about how some girls are born with no hymen or not a lot of one. She said she didn't remember bleeding her first time and I know that I didn't. Almost all the other girls I've talked to about it bled (a lot. One friend bled for about 3 days.) so I thought it was a little strange that the two of us didn't. I know that the typical definition of losing your virginity means having a penis inserted into your vagina but I told her that I'd come online tonight and try to get some answers. If anyone can tell me anything about this please do. Thank you!

not everyone bleeds when they lose their virginity - some people do and some don't.
losing your virginity means having penetrative vaginal sex.
most girls bleed due to their hymens breaking - some girls break theirs doing sport such as gymnastics or horse riding or even by using tampons.
you are not strange for not bleeding, so don't worry - its normal either way!
