So this is the third time it has happened this morning.
-Background-
I'm in the Marine Corps, I'm not in the best of shape, but I'm not nessicarily out of shape either. We run a lot and do a lot of PT, so I'm used to getting up at 0330, not eatting right away and going out on a 5 or 6 mile run with other exercises included.
-Symptoms-
It never happens during PT, usually about 5 minutes or so right after PT.
Vision goes completely black, I mean completely. I can't see anything.
Hearing gets extremely muffled and sometimes echoey
Weakness in the knees and loss of balance, but I don't fall over nor sit down (I would get blasted if I tried.)
I am still about 70% concious of what I'm doing, my friends say that sometimes I don't respond and talk with a slur in my words.
I usually remember everything that happens, but there are some blank spaces.
(this morning the formation took off with out me and I had a SSgt yelling in my ear to catch up, but I couldn't see anything at all so I started running in a random direction and I guess I was wrong, so he had to verbally tell me which way to turn.)
When the symptoms start to go away, my vision slowly comes back, little at a time, like it will go from completely black to grey, to where I can see the outline of things (even tho by this time its about 0530 and pretty light out from dawn.) to eventually going back to full vision.
The weakness goes away when my vision starts to come back, as well as the muffleness in my ears.
After my symptom went away, I ran another 3 miles this morning completely fine other than maybe a little scared as to what is going on and how I go about this.
over the course of the past few weeks however, I have had these weird and kind of scary symptoms show up. The first time it happened, it took a lot of PT to get me there, so I thought I was dehydrated, so I started to drink even more water that I already had. about a week later, it happened again. This time it only took about half the PT that it did the first time. Then it happened again this morning, roughly a week from the last time it happened. So I drank even more water. I made sure that I was well hydrated over the weekend, drinking between 70-80 oz of water per day over the past 3 days. This time however it was about 1.5 miles into our run, we stopped and did some exercises and when I got back into formation to continue running, it struck me.
I have a medical appointment tomorrow at 1600, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Hi Dog,
You DO need to see your doctor - ASAP.
It could be cardiac related, the loss of vision and hearing can indicate a loss of blood flow to the brain. It could be from dehydration. It could also be a clogged artery or an artery that is "spasming."
It does not sound typical of low blood sugar.
Too much water can also be as bad as too little. You need some blood work.
Keep us posted. Good luck. Thank you for your service.
