Reading on emedicine, I found some very interesting info about wegener granulomatosis - not so much about the disease itself, but about the naming and the person who discovered the disease if you like. He was a member of the Nazi Party in Germany and performed experiments on the remains of bodies from the Jewish ghetto in the city where he worked. Are we sure that this disease was not created by the nazis, perhaps?

I know that an award in the honor of that person was abandoned already. And he still did lots of work finding out things about diseases and so on. I think they changed their minds about changing the name of wegener granulomatosis now, but still, it is a nasty disease! Why shouldn't it be named after someone who was a member of the nazi party.
