Im a 46 year old female who is on my 5th month of Accutane. My joints ache so bad I've had cortisone shots in my feet, i have also gained 35 pounds. My face use to get sever cyst but that has gone away finally. No doctor has ever prescribed anything that helped until my recent doctor (12th). I still would take accutane all over again if needed. The weight will come off with exercise once my feet are better

I think the weight gain is due to the fact that it is recommended you eat a large, fatty meal with Isotretenoin for proper absorption.

I’ve been accutane for 8 weeks now and mentally I’ve never felt better! I agree with her I think it’s mental. I have gained weight though and I believe it’s water weight. I’ve been so thirsty and drinking a lot of water. My thighs, butt and stomach area look a lot bigger. Water retention is no joke. Outside of this I’ve only experience a few side effects of dry lips, more acne/breakouts and I’m extra thirsty!
