Hello! Fibrosis is a term which refers to scarring, so pulmonary fibrosis means scarring throughout the lungs. The symptoms you described are the common symptoms that occur in people with pulmonary fibrosis. A person who suffers from pulmonary fibrosis may also feel fatigue and weakness and discomfort in the chest. Since the cause and development of the disease is not completely understood, misdiagnosis is common. The most current thinking is that the fibroid process is a reaction to microscopic injury to the lung caused by inflammatory processes, infections, environmental agents and radiation.
