I have been on Methadone for almost two yrs and about a year ago I went total cold turkey and it could have been life threatening considerating the consequences. At the time I had one carry and figured that I could make it due and drink a little bit each day for nine days, boy was I wrong and missing three days in a row without going to the pharmacy, well legally I was off of the Methadone.I would not recommend it to anyone to do that, being sick is a under-statement.
I have been tapering off @ 5mils per week for the last month and a half and I have been sick in between, I have 15 mils to go and I am wondering if my withdrawal will become lesser as I drop less or will it become more to the point of being sick all the time. The program has helped me but I have along ways to go with my own personnal things
Thanx

As best I can tell, your body will get over the drug as you taper off on the dose, as in, every illness period should be shorter and shorter. Are you noticing anything like that or is that not the case? In any case, you should be able to come off it gradually without massive illness although when you finally do quit it may be a bit more difficult. Keep us posted on how it goes for you.
