Will taking suboxone cause weight gain?

I have gained about 40 lbs on this medication, I have no appetite and eat barely anything everyday. I look pregnant, I have been a size 2/4 all my life and now 156 lbs when I should be 120-125lbs. This drug has ruined my life but I need it for my opioide addiction. It is doing terrible things to my body and I feel depressed and anxious. I hate my body, when I just loved my thin frame all my life. The weight won't come off no matter how little I eat. I barely eat a yogurt a day. If I eat a meal I will gain weight. I don't know how this drug got by research. I think they are trying to ruin the life of addicts. I'm an RN and know it is killing me. I want to go on methadone.

I have had the same issue of weight gain. I , with the direction of my physician cut back from 20mg. down to 12mg. As I said I did this under my physicians help. I tapered down to a lower dose. I lost about 10 lbs once I got down to taking the 12mg. I haven't lost anymore weight since then, about 2 months ago. I don't want to go anywhere because I feel horrible about myself.

I gained ten pounds a year, for 3 years since I've been on suboxone. I take 6mg a day. How can I lose and maintain my weight on this great medicine that saved my life?

I feel like I just read my own story. It's been 10 months. No period and weight is up past 180 now. Feel helpless.
