Hello, I am 21 y.o and I've noticed this bumpy thing in my scrotum years ago (I don't exactly remember when). I realized I couple months ago that it might have grew in size overtime. It doesn't hurt as is unless you pinch it and hold really hard in a specific manner. It is not really fluidy, it's literally hard and doesn't move. I'm scared to know what it is and please tell me if I should go to the doctor ASAP or it is not serious. (money's tight at the moment)

The bump you have described in your scrotum could have various causes, including:

  1. Sebaceous Cyst: These are small, noncancerous bumps that can develop in the skin's oil glands. They are usually firm, slow-growing, and painless. Sebaceous cysts can sometimes become infected, causing pain or redness.

  2. Epididymal Cyst: The epididymis is a coiled tube located behind the testicle, and cysts can occasionally develop within it. These cysts are typically painless, fluid-filled, and can feel like a small lump separate from the testicle.

  3. Varicocele: This is a condition characterized by enlarged veins within the scrotum. Varicoceles are typically described as feeling like a "bag of worms" and are more common on the left side. They can sometimes cause discomfort or pain.

  4. Hydrocele: A hydrocele is a fluid-filled sac around the testicle. It can cause a painless swelling in the scrotum. Hydroceles are usually not harmful and may resolve on their own, but medical evaluation is still necessary.

I understand that financial concerns can be a barrier, but it's important to prioritize your health. If money is tight, you may want to consider reaching out to local clinics, community health centers, or healthcare programs that offer affordable or sliding-scale fees based on income. They may be able to provide you with the necessary evaluation and guidance at a reduced cost.

Good luck!
