how effective are birth control pills

I'm just curious because every month I find my self wondering just how effective oral contaceptive is? I've been on it for 6 years and take it at the same time every night. My boyfriend uses pull out method also, but why do you still hear horror stories of girls becoming pregnant while on the pill?

The pill is 99% effective..NOT 99.99%..

Taking the pill LATE, missing pills, and using antibiotics are ways to cause problems with the effectiveness of the pill...

99% is not 100%..NOTHING is perfect, which is why a back-up plan should always be in order..

Pull out is NOT effective as a birth control method.
