Hi,

I hope it turned out alright. I'm going through something similar now - there is a mass on my kidney ~12cm, though not sure what it is yet until a CT scan hopefully next week. Until two months ago I was a healthy 43 year old - cycling to work, running, rowing etc. I then started having trouble sleeping, waking with back pain that went away if I sat up, other than that I felt perfectly fine during the day. I thought at first is was muscle or joints - so I went to a Chiropracor. About 1 month ago it got a little worse I am now aware of pressure in my abdomen during the day, and so I went to the doctor. Went for an ultrasound (organised in a few days) yesterday and got results back today with details - the NHS has been pretty effective for me so far (Addenbrookes, Cambridge). Naturally I'm scared/upset - but wanted to share and get feedback from others. I think either way the kidney will need to come out - good job we have 2! - regardless of the prognosis. FIngers crossed that's all i need to get back to health.
