okay so i am 17 years old, my breast just started lactating out of no where.. they are very tender and i'm not sure why. I always like to know whats going on with my body, but right now i have no idea and i'm scared. I got the 1st depo shot (birth control shot) but my mom doesnt know because i went to a free clinic so i would be safe just in case. i am due for my next one but i moved so i am not going to able to get it. I am not in anyway sexually active right now, but i have had sex before but have never gotten pregnant. I read that a benign tumor could cause this, so i'm a bit scared. but i also heard it is extremely rare for teens to have breast cancer. I am scared to go to my mom with this, because she doesn't know i'm on birth control.. i'm so extremely stressed from moving this past month and my emotions have been out of whack. If i really should go to the doctors i will try to figure it out.. but i have a fear for doctors and my mom so i'd rather not..can anyone help me know what might be going on with my body please???

Thank you so much for taking the time

I'm not a doctor, nor a medical person.
But it sounds like you have received a shot with powerful hormones and they may be making your breasts weep.

You need to be monitored by a medical person if you are going to continue on this form of birth control.
You may not want to discuss this with your mother, but you do need to discuss this with a counselor.

Considering that you've moved and that you're under a lot of stress, you have every reason to be concerned about your body's reaction.
You may want to start with a school nurse or counselor, but if you do see out birth control, you'll want to tell the doctor or nurse about your reaction.

If your breasts continue to provide milk, I would see a medical person sooner, rather than later.
Are you certain that you aren't pregnant? Have you had a test?

Hi, I was wondering what what you found out. I am 17 as well, very stressed out at the moment with high school as well as college classes and have four research papers to do in three months. Lately I have been tired and sore and today, i began lactating from my left breast. I had sex three weeks ago but the condom slipped off and since then I have been worriying that I'm pregnant. I heard somewhere that some people who think their pregnant can have symptoms without actually being pregnant. I took an over the counter pregnancy test today and it came out negative but its only been three weeks and might be too early to tell so if you could, I'd really like to know what you found out.
