hi im a 19yr old female and i had a 4 day period and have sex while i was nearly off, 2 days later ive been geting really bad sharp pains in my left side and now have come back on my period but its a very light period and is a v dark red colour... is this normal what should i do or what is it?

I think you may have a ceist on your ovary. I have had this same problem since i was 13 and i am now 22. The sharp pain is a ceist bursting which is normal, and actually good. If the ceist doesnt burst it will grow and surgery has to be done to remove it and maybe your ovary as well. Birth control usually will causes a ceist to burst. If you are not on the pill i advise you to get on it. It will help with this problem and after awhile gradually go away. My sister was in a lot of pain and discovered she had a ceist that half way bursted on her ovary that was larger than her ovary. They performed an ultra sound and put her on birth control to cause it to burst. I would see a doctor to get an ultra sound to make sure it is small and not too large.

and by the way the very dark red period blood means that its old blood and cleansing your self with douche will rinse that old blood out. it is very normal i have never had a period with out dark blood in the beginning of my period and when iam getting off. It has nothing to do if you do have a ceist but i am not a doctor but someone who has had the same problem.
