I am 26-years-old and have been on Yamsin birth control for two months. Before that, I was on Lo-estrin 24 but I couldn't afford it due to a change in my insurance. Anyway, I have just started my second week of pills as of yesterday and today, I went to the bathroom only to find thick, black menstrual blood. It is sticky-thick and there are clots. I am incredibly worried that this is a sign of something else that is wrong--and just my luck without any real insurance. Has anyone had this problem while being on birth control for a prolonged period of time?

Hi there, I am pretty sure that what you're experiencing is normal for people on Yasmin--not that that's necessarily a good thing. Do you think you could figure out how to go to a free clinic and get checked out? Would that be possible?
