I'm female and have had the same partner for 11 years. For the past few months sex has decreased dramatically. The last time we did when we finished he had multiple abrasions all over the folds. Lots of blood. Never happened before. Occasionally an abrasion but not like this. His penis seems discolored as well with purplish spots.
I'm worried about STI's since a condom isn't used. I advised him to go to the doctor but he's hesitant. He claims now that its painful during sex. Any ideas? Should I be worried?

Hi Bridgett,
It could be a number of things, including a fungal infection or a virus, but for your own protection, NO SEX until he's checked.
Don't give him any alternatives to getting checked.
Good luck.

Addition He went to the doctor and was diagnosed with fungal infection. Which I feel is related to yeast. I never had a yeast infection. He says he's cured in 2 weeks with lamisil pill.
Am I wrong to assume he's been with someone that had a yeast infection?

Don't make that assumption.
Anyone can develop a fungal or yeast infection - ANYONE. Virgin or not. It doesn't mean anything. Warm, moist environments, promote the growth of fungus. Fungi are everywhere in our environment and are on your skin, whether you have an infection or not.
Glad he went and got checked.
