Hi. I am a student of dentistry, and my professor was teaching us about mouth abscesses. I didn’t listen on the class, and I don’t have it in any of my books. I am in a hurry because we have an exam in a week. I would be grateful if you could tell me something more about it. Please.

A dental abscess can be an infection or the cavity of the mouth, and they are common in people with poor dental hygiene. It can became very painful, because it can extend into the gums, the throat, beneath the tongue, or even the jaw. The site becomes inflamed (because the pus is collecting at the aforementioned places), and it is either surgically ruptured and drained, or on it’s own.
