Hello, folks. My sister in law was diagnosed with acute deafness. She has never had hearing problem before, so this all surprised us. I would really like to know if we can hope for a complete recovery. Do you have any knowledge about this? If you have it, please share it with us. Thank you.

Hello to you too. It all depends what caused this acute deafness. If there is a plug in outer ear canal, then you shouldn’t worry a lot. A doctor will flush it with water in syringe. If the reason is in the middle ear, then it all depends what therapeutic method will be applied. I know that transtympanic apply of corticosteroids show good results. You should discuss this with your sister in law’s ENT specialist. I hope she will be all right. Good luck! Bye!
