Hi, there. This can be very traumatic for the family. You haven’t mentioned if this acute deafness affected both or only one ear. If only one ear is affected, then it is probably clogged with water or earwax. If the cause is in middle ear, then there is a new approach. Corticosteroids can be given transtympanically.
