Is chrysin an effective Aromatase Inhibitor for men? I would like to know more about AIFM chrysin. I am in late 40’s and I started with bodybuilding recently.

Chrysin is a flavonoid that has been purported especially in the bodybuilding world. An effective inhibitor of an enzyme known as aromatase causes the conversion of testosterone into estradiol and androstenedione into estrone. This would have a theoretical advantage to bodybuilders especially those who are taking high doses of potent anabolic steroids and if true, it would have significant advantages for many outside the bodybuilding community, as well. Aromatase levels are known to raise with age which increases causes a relative imbalance of estrogen and testosterone in men as they grow older. So, it’s not just an interest in maintaining strength, energy, muscle mass and libido in older men that generates the interest in aromatase inhibition.

AIFM, aromatase inhibitor for men, is a topical/transdermal formulation that contains the natural andro metabolite 1,4,6-androstatriene-3,17-dione as well as DHEA. 1,4,6-androstatriene-3,17-dione is clinically tested and highly effective suicidal aromatase inhibitor. 1,4,6-androstatriene-3,17-dione has poor/inconsistent oral bioavailability which is why it must be delivered transdermally.

if you have moderate to high estrogen levels it will shift hormonal balance back in favor of androgen dominance (raising T/E ratios) as well as increasing free testosterone (it lowers SHBG levels as well)

chrysin orally at high doses has some very slight effect (very poor oral bioavailability), transdermally it has some effect though it stains (its a bright yellow pigmented flavanoid). its not really suitable for any significant level of estrogen suppression.

also recent studies indicate that chrysin and other flavanoids may work more by inhibiting synthesis through estrogenic action (direct ER binding). However either way, chrysin orally is basically a waste of money.

I was told that taking Chrysin with DHEA is effective for increasing testosterone? Is 7-Keto better?
