Been drinking hard since I was a teenager. I'm 43. Lately my ability to bounce back the day after has changed lanes. I know the risks of prolonged abuse. I made that bad choice, but now the signs are getting scary. I can't sleep but a few hours. Sobriety=anxiety, nausea, inability to keep food down, massive repulsion to food, muscle cramps, irritability, pounding heart, accelerated heart rate, gagging, blood caked on my teeth when I wake up, tremors, terrible sweats. The symptoms don't go away after some drinks anymore. I know I've done damage, but am I suffering from some sort of failure?

I want you to know right now that when you quit it can be very difficult. Right now, since you're experiencing so much anxiety, you may be suffering psychological effects AS WELL as physical ones, and you can make yourself very sick by doing this without help. Can you consult a physician about it? I think that would be a really good idea. I think you should do it as soon as possible, as it might be serious. let me know, okay?
