I've been a heavy drinker for years. With the exception of the very infrequent 'dry out' sessions that last a couple of weeks every year, I have been drinking heavily every day for like 20 years.
I had a particularly heavy week last week and decided to quit for a while. It's not the first time I've tried this. My problem is that the withdrawal symptoms I experience get so hard to deal with that I always revert back to drinking and try to come down slowly. The cycle repeats itself again and again.
This time I made it through the night, but puked and sweat and trembled all night long. I puked like 6 times until my throat bled.
The next day I broke down and had a few drinks until I stopped sweating, shaking, and feeling nascious.
That night I didn't throw up but almost did a couple of times. Sweats, shaking, diahrea...couldn't keep warm. Soaked through 2 sets of pajamas. No sleep. No food. Couldn't hold down more than a few sips of water.
Next day was sort of okay. Paced a lot. Really wanted a drink. That night I didn't shake. Sweating was mild. Was able to eat a little and hold down some water. Was a bit uncomfortable but I actually slept for about 2 hours straight 2 times.
I got up today and I feel great. No sweats. No shakes. No Nausia. My urine is turning back from sunset yellow to a more clear color (havn't seen that while sober in years!). I was able to eat normally today and drank at least 3 liters of water. I actually had a mostly solid bowel movement as well.
It's getting late and I actually feel tired and want to crawl into bed and sleep. No desire to drink.
I feel like I am through the part. It's been almost 3 days since my last drink. Anyone ever hear of that sh*t coming back after seemingly going away. I'm so comfortable and fresh today. I pray that nightmare is over.

I'm eating vitamins and proper food. I guess that's all I can do and just ride it out. I can semi stand the shakes. The cold sweats and nausia are the real horrific parts.
