I had rectocele surgery 3 weeks ago. Had to have wear a catheter and bag and keep the packing in for 4 days. Experienced some pain but very little. The doctor put in a mesh sling. When I urinate I just dribble and have to rock back and forth to empty my bladder. When I move my bowels it's usually just a small amount even tho I'm eating and drinking normally. It's like something is partially blocking my passageways. Am I expecting too much too soon after this type of surgery?

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties post-surgery. After a rectocele repair, it's not uncommon to experience some urinary or bowel symptoms, but it's essential to consult with your surgeon about any persistent or concerning symptoms.
Regarding the specific issues you mentioned:
-
Urination: Difficulty in fully emptying the bladder can be a side effect of surgery, especially if there was manipulation or repair around the bladder or urethra. The mesh sling may also be affecting your ability to void efficiently. It's important to let your surgeon know about the dribbling and the need to rock back and forth, as they may want to evaluate for possible complications such as urinary retention or bladder outlet obstruction.
-
Bowel Movements: After rectocele repair, bowel habits might change temporarily. Swelling, inflammation, or the healing process could make it feel like something is blocking the passageway. Again, it's essential to communicate this with your doctor. They may recommend stool softeners, increased fiber intake, or other treatments to help regulate bowel movements.
-
Recovery Time: Recovery after rectocele repair can vary depending on the individual and the specific surgical technique used. Some symptoms may be expected in the initial weeks following surgery, but they should gradually improve.
